Terms and Conditions

Chemical Storage and Pool Use

  1. No Chemical Storage
Port City Pools does not store chemicals at your residence for safety reasons. We will provide all necessary chemicals and testing to maintain a safe swimming environment for your family and guests.

  2. Swim Restrictions
Please refrain from using the pool for at least one hour following service to allow chemicals adequate time to disperse. Should your pool require circulation during chemical application, we will activate your pump.

  3. Large Swim Parties
If you plan to host a large swim event, notify us at least one week in advance. We will add extra chemicals at no additional charge.

Pool Covers

  1. Removal of Covers
Remove pool covers on service days and keep them off for at least three hours afterward. To maintain accurate water chemistry and prevent issues such as eye irritation, we recommend covering the pool no more than 50% of the time.

Access and Pets

  1. Access Requirements
Ensure that we have unobstructed access to your pool. If your gate is locked, please provide us with a key or combination.

  2. Pet Safety
Unfriendly, hyperactive, or escape-prone dogs must be secured on service days. Service may be delayed if our technicians feel threatened by loose animals. Additionally, ensure young children are not in the pool area during service.

Pool Owner Responsibilities

  1. Filtration
Proper filtration is essential. Clean your filter when the pressure gauge shows a 6-10 pound increase from the clean pressure. Diatomaceous earth and cartridge filters should be serviced semi-annually, with filter elements replaced every 4-5 years. In cooler months, run the filter 4-6 hours per day; in warmer months, 6-10 hours per day.

  2. Pool Covers
Remove covers on service days. Port City Pools is not liable for any damage to your pool cover.

  3. Pathway and Access
Keep the pathway to your pool clean and clear. Ensure easy access for your service technician.

  4. Pets
Aggressive or escape-prone pets must be secured. Service will be refused if our technician feels threatened.

  5. Pool Use
Discontinue pool use for 1-2 hours after service. If we activate your system during service, allow it to run until the next cycle. If your system lacks an auto shut-off feature, you are responsible for managing its operation.

  6. Filtration Maintenance
Inadequate filtration can cause cloudy water and algae. Filter your pool 4-6 hours daily in winter and 6-10 hours daily in summer. Clean filters every 4-6 months and check for damage.

  7. Brushing
Brush your pool at least twice a week to prevent algae and bacteria buildup.
